Films

Transindia

(Dir: Meera Darji, India 2018, 30 mins)

A documentary exploring the transgender community also known as Hijras in Gujarat, India.

Queercore in the Second City

(Dir: Centrala, Executive producers: Lexi Bushell & Ryley Morton, UK 2025, 30 mins)

A film about Birmingham’s thriving Queer Hardcore (queercore) scene, a subculture rooted in punk’s DIY ethos, community building, and queer resistance.

The event will include a Q&A with some of those involved in making these films, reflecting on the motivations and challenges behind documentary production and interventions in small communities.

This event has been programmed by Gina Matuska as part of her project Queerness, community and cinema.

Come down for a night of electronic-focused experimentation.

A heady brew of improv, noise and remix culture that showcases the depth and diversity of the left-field music scene in Birmingham and beyond.

It’s a slice of cosmic pie for all the family, washed down with a hot jug of granular gravy. All in one Pan.
