Kikimora x Pan-Pan Present: Me Lost Me + Rosie Tee
15 Oct
/
7:30 pm

Kikimora Records & Pan-Pan are delighted to invite back Me Lost Me to Birmingham for a spellbinding show (with full live band) as part of her 2025 UK tour celebrating her acclaimed new album “This Material Moment”.

The project of Newcastle-based artist Jayne Dent, Me Lost Me experiments with songwriting, creating a beguiling mix of soaring folk vocals and atmospheric electronics that playfully push the boundaries of genre. Taking influence from folk, art pop, noise, ambient and improvised music, her work has been described in The Guardian as "stripping folk back to its bones while letting its future echoes bleed out".

/////

Support comes from composer and performer, Rosie Tee. Weaving a distinctive blend of electronica, jazz, psych, and avant-pop in the UK's second city, her music conjures immersive, technicolor soundscapes that sit at the experimental edges of songwriting, where synth-driven atmospheres meet hypnotic grooves and folkloric lyrics.

Come down for a night of electronic-focused experimentation.

A heady brew of improv, noise and remix culture that showcases the depth and diversity of the left-field music scene in Birmingham and beyond.

It’s a slice of cosmic pie for all the family, washed down with a hot jug of granular gravy. All in one Pan.

Me Lost Me

With her prolific writing and extensive touring schedule, Me Lost Me's unique sound has won much support across the musical spectrum. Dent has notably performed live for BBC Radio 3's After Dark Festival and as part of the 2022 BBC Proms alongside Spell Songs, Royal Northern Sinfonia and the Voices of the Rivers Edge Choir. She received the prestigious Paul Hamlyn Foundation Award for Composers and was 2020-2021 Artist in Residence at Sage Gateshead.

Praise for This Material Moment:

The Wire Magazine - “One of her talents is identifying strong, evocative images that feel ambiguous but also somehow portentous...small images ground these drifting, elusive, probing songs, providing moments of recognition and stillness before they push off again into the mist”

MOJO ★★★★ “A David Lynch-directed version of The Unthanks… overwhelmingly powerful.”

The Quietus - “Her most accomplished and inventive yet… It’s an album you feel more than follow.”

Klof Mag -  “an alarmingly good album, stormy and intense at one moment, wise and contemplative the next.”

Backseat Mafia 9/10 - “Such self-assurance feels like a step-on for ‘This Material Moment’ Me Lost Me, an album where experimentation and musicality are impressively balanced.”

NARC Magazine 4/5 - “Some artists are able to express raw emotion so legitimately that they forgo any and all tropes or restrictions of a genre and find themselves turning it on its head or even existing entirely outside of it.”

Rosie Tee

Praised for “glorious colours & textures” by The Quietus and "jazz-licked psyche-noise abstraction” by The Arts Desk, Tee’s work is rich with intricate orchestration and vibrant sound design, often incorporating manipulated vocals, pedals, and glockenspiel to enhance her otherworldy, synth-heavy sound.

Since 2018, Tee has toured the UK with her quartet, featuring off-kilter synths (Piera Onacko), swarming bass (Dan Cippico), and textural drums (Kai Chareunsy). Together, they blend analogue and digital elements, delivering cinematic live performances that have seen them support artists like Stealing Sheep, Submotion Orchestra, Flamingods, and BEAK>. Festival appearances include Fat Out, Lost In The Hills Mostly Jazz Funk & Soul, and Cheltenham Jazz Festival.

Tee has spoken on the “Women In Music” panel at BBC Introducing Live and was invited as an artist in residence at Glasshouse International Centre for Music, Gateshead (formerly The Sage). This year, she embarks on a new project with the Bristol-based Ukrainian choir Kozachky, part of a Sound UK artist development commission.
